About the piece: I started the painting like I normally do, not knowing the direction it would take me.  I took out four colours and my palette knives, building texture and depth through rich impasto strokes that reflect light like shifting waves. So, then i was inspired by the radiant stretch of Spain’s southern Atlantic coast, Costa de la Luz captures the raw beauty of golden sands meeting crystalline waters.

The shore glows with sunshine tones - yellows, copper, and white evoke the warm dunes and shimmering sand.  The Atlantic Ocean was composed of sweeping layers of ultramarine, teal, and metallic greens crashing together like the sea itself, full of energy and life.
