About the piece: Two Sides to Every Story came out of a quiet, thoughtful day. The bold swirl in the centre felt like a turning point, or a decision, depending on when I looked at it. The lower half became grounded — fields, earth, something rooted — while the upper burst with cooler energy, possibly a lake on the hills and almost like a storm.
The golden yellow at the top was important — a kind of light, but not necessarily peaceful. More like tension in sunlight. I played with rich lime greens, warm rust tones, deep blue-black, and a bold splash of metallic turquoise. That turquoise shifts with the light — especially in late evening, when it catches the dim glow and transforms the whole mood of the piece. It’s a reminder that depending on the light — or the moment — we see things differently. This piece holds that truth gently: every story has more than one side.
